During a trip with PolarQuest, Jenny finally checked off one of the highlights on her bucket list. Read her story about this meeting which became one of her best travel memories.
Together with my better half, I had the opportunity to join PolarQuest on a trip to England. An expedition that went from Bristol to Oban. The trip was in itself a unique experience and also completely new to us at PolarQuest. I got to visit historic sites and picturesque English villages with long winding stone streets lined with small houses close together.
The highlight of this trip was the wildlife and particularly the Atlantic puffin, my absolute favorite animal. The Atlantic puffin has been on the top of my bucket list for long and now I finally got to meet this beautiful bird and that in a thousand times. The rain did not bother me as I slowly walked along the winding path on Skomer Island, while the many Atlantic puffins ran back and forth in front of my feet. A truly amazing encounter.
This trip was a true expedition with many changes in the itinerary. One of these changes led us to the island of Bardsey. The island, which has only a dozen year-round inhabitants, offered us warm hospitality, wonderful views and really good scones at the island's small café. An unexpected and absolut success that I think everyone on the trip looks back on with a big smile!
