Erik Edvardsson
Expedition leaderThe passionate bird lover, Erik, is an educated biologist specialized in ecology and conservation. He has extensive experience in field studies and surveys throughout Sweden. The first time he explored the Arctic and Antarctica, he did it as a PolarQuest traveller! Since then he has been a guide and expedition leader on several of our trips.
Erik has had a fascination for nature all his life, starting with bird watching at an early age. His interest in birds later led him into photography, and today he captures everything from small insects to large whales through his lens.
He has also worked several years as a guide at Nordens Ark, an animal park focused on endangered species. Erik loves to share his knowledge and passion for the natural world, both through words and photos.
The joy of travelling and discovering new places has always been there and is still a central part of Erik's life.

I will never forget the first time we went ashore in South Georgia. How incredibly many animals there were, how curious they were, the unbelievable size of the elephant seals and the beautiful surroundings. But the strongest memory is probably when I sat in the middle of the huge penguin colony at St. Andrews Bay, alone in light snowfall, and just enjoyed the wildlife show around me.
