Heidi Lähteenmäki Sander

Heidi is PolarQuest's key person when it comes to planning and organising our trips to Svalbard. And she speaks just as fondly of the Arctic as she does of Antarctica. Discovering wildlife, nature, and cultures that differ from what she is used to back home is her great passion and something very close to her heart.

As the Svalbard coordinator, Heidi organises and pieces together all the details in the big machinery that makes up our expedition cruises to Svalbard. There's a lot of information to be conveyed and close collaboration between the office and the guides to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Heidi studied to become a travel consultant in Australia and has dipped her toes in various parts of the world. She has, among other things, travelled on the Trans-Siberian Railway from Moscow to Beijing, explored Central America, worked at the Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi, organised ski trips to the Alps and expeditions to Canada, and arranged volunteer trips around the world.
