Johanna Vakkila
COO and Project Management
Johanna is part of PolarQuest’s management team and works with project management, production, communication, and sustainability. Johanna has travelled across all continents, and in addition to the polar regions, which she holds especially dear, she enjoys exploring places that provide insight into other fascinating cultures. In her free time, she enjoys writing, painting, or illustrating.
During her years at PolarQuest, Johanna has had the opportunity to travel to destinations including Svalbard, Antarctica, Russian Arctic, Mongolia, and Southern and Eastern Africa. This has made her deeply humble about the world and how we handle it. The journalist in Johanna loves the Swedish language, and the scientist in her enjoys reading about new discoveries and sorting through various facts.
