Nils Carlsson

Nils is a Ph.D. in limnology/invasive species biology and splits his time between guiding in polar regions and working with issues regarding invasive species and wildlife management at different Swedish government bodies. He is a quite a storyteller and is very passionate about fishing.

Nils Carlsson has been guiding adventurous tourists amongst polar bears, walruses and penguins in Svalbard and Antarctica since 1990.

Nils started his career as a scuba diving instructor in Thailand and Sweden but soon began to study biology at the University of Lund. Nils keen interest in biology and nature conservation led to research in different parts of Asia, Sweden and the US. Nils has been published extensively in highly ranked international scientific journals. He has also discovered and named a previously non-described crab species.

Nils is often asked to lecture on different biological subjects and is known to be quite a storyteller. If you start to talk about his biggest passion, fishing, he may be very difficult to stop.
