Travelling through Svalbard's enchanting wilderness on a ship that carries only 12 passengers is an unparalleled adventure. The small group creates a family atmosphere on board, and you never have to crowd on deck or queue to get into the Zodiac. With our small ships, we can explore places that are otherwise hard to reach and maximise your time to ensure you get the most out of your trip. In this blog post you will have the chance to get to know our expedition ship M/S Sjøveien.
Scout for wildlife and take photos on the deck
On the main deck, there is ample space for wildlife scouting and capturing magical moments with your camera. The bridge is always open for visitors, and above it, there is an additional deck area from which you can enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding polar landscape.
Enjoy a hot bath in the wood-fired hot tub
What could be better than slipping into a warm bath after a day in the wilderness? Out on deck, there's a wood-fired hot tub where you can relax and savour the moment while witnessing the Arctic landscape pass by.
Join us for exciting Zodiac cruises and landings!
On board M/S Sjøveien you will be accompanied by two knowledgeable guides who will do their utmost to maximise your experience. Additionally, there are two Zodiacs (rubber boats) available for excursions, allowing you to get even closer to the magnificent nature. Our aim is to make daily Zodiac cruises and go ashore whenever possible.
Enjoy good food
In the ship’s combined dining room and lounge, which accommodates all 12 travellers, you will enjoy delicious meals between the excursions. A buffet is served for breakfast and lunch, while dinner is served at the table. It's also a place where you can listen to our guides as they share fascinating insights about Svalbard's wildlife, nature and history.
Relax in your cabin
M/S Sjøveien offers eight outside cabins, all with private facilities. On the lower deck, you will find four double cabins with portholes (small round windows). On the main deck there are two larger twin cabins with windows and one large superior cabin with a double bed and windows. The eighth cabin, another superior cabin with windows and a double bed, is situated on the upper deck.
Please note: Depending on the lens used for a photo or video shot an animal may appear to be closer than it is. We always follow strict wildlife guidelines to ensure that we do not cause any disturbance.
